Hello,
Thank you for filling out your child's pre-application for the preschool programs at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Completing this application does not guarantee placement as there are eligibility requirements that must be met.
Our preschool programs are required by the federal government to collect the following information regarding your child to keep our programs in compliance:
Thank you
If you submit your child's medical records (physical, dental, immunizations, and other screenings), please be sure the child's name, the date the examination was completed, the exam results and doctor's/dentist's names and/or signatures are visible and legible . If you do not have these documents readily available, you can submit them to the Family Advocate who will be contacting you to complete any follow-up information.
PLEASE NOTE: If you receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, you are automatically eligible for Head Start/Pre-K Counts. You only need to submit proof of SNAP benefits (a photo of your SNAP card or SNAP document). You will NOT need to upload any other income documentation.
Pre-applications are accepted for Head Start-eligible children living in Allegheny County, NOT residing in the Pittsburgh Public Schools District , between the ages of 3 and 4 and are NOT kindergarten eligible. We cannot accept children in our program who are age-eligible for kindergarten. Pre-K Counts applications are not limited to Allegheny County and can include those residing in any school district in Pennsylvania; however, our Pre-K Counts sites are limited to Baldwin, Bethel Park, Carlynton, Duquesne, East Allegheny, Gateway, Moon, Northgate, South Allegheny and West Mifflin School Districts. Your child must be at least 3 yrs old before September 1 to qualify for Pre-K Counts.
You will receive a confirmation email if your application is transmitted successfully.
Thank you!
