Neighborhood House’s Head Start programs provide an opportunity for young children to learn, grow, and thrive. Our early childhood programs serve children and families in SW and NW Multnomah County. We help to prepare children for school by providing age-appropriate learning opportunities that ensure they enter kindergarten ready to learn. We strive to support individual family growth and independence. We focus on parents as teachers, helping families to be successful in supporting their children’s overall development. Families with children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old can apply for this free program. We give priority to families that are at or below 130% Federally Poverty Level and up to a maximum of 250% Federal Poverty Level; TANF, SSI or SNAP recipients; families experiencing houselessness; families with foster children; and, families who have children with disabilities. We also offer prenatal services. If you need assistance with this application, please contact an Intake and Enrollment Specialist at (503) 354-6775 or earlylearning@nhpdx.org.
