We are now accepting online applications for McKnight CDC/Kannapolis Head Start. If your child will be 3 or 4 years old on or before August 31, 2026 and you live in Kannapolis City Schools school district, we would love for you to apply for a possible slot for the 2026-2027 school year. You MUST complete each item listed in the pre-application AND upload or bring copies of the following documents: Parent ID, birth certificate, proof of residence (lease/mortgage statement, utility statement), health insurance card, copy of current physical, copy of current immunizations, dental record, any documents if your child is currently receiving any outside therapies and proof of income (W2, 1040, 1099, SSI, or SNAP Award Letter) to the red drop box located at the front door of McKnight CDC. Please ensure that all copies of required documents are either uploaded or turned into our office. Your application will not be complete until we have the required documents. Within 72 business hours of submitting the pre-application, a family advocate from our program will contact you in the order that your application was received regarding any next steps. If your child will be 4 years old on or before August 31, 2026, they will give you guidance on an additional application you will need to complete for the NCPK program. It is important to remember that a completed application is not a guarantee of acceptance into our program.
