FCPS PreK and Early Head Start Offers:
- A high quality preschool program that provides an academic curriculum to students Monday through Friday
- PreK and EHS classrooms that follow the bell schedule of their elementary school
- Breakfast, Lunch and Snack every day
Things to know before applying:
- School bus transportation may be available for some PreK students
- Parents must provide before school care and/or after school care if needed
- Each family will be asked to provide paperwork for eligibility and additional documents
for registration if your child is found eligible
PreK Program Requirements:
Your family may qualify for PreK if you:
- live in Fairfax County, Virginia and
- have a child who will be 3 or 4 years of age by September 30th
(there are limited spots for children of age 3)
- Students with economic and educational risk factors such as:
- Income eligibility
- Homelessness/Foster Care
- Parent with Limited Education
- Student received Special Education Services

Early Head Start (EHS) Program Requirements:
Your family may qualify for EHS if you:
- live in Fairfax County, Virginia in the geographical areas of Herndon, Reston or Springfield and
- are a pregnant woman or have a child between the ages of 0 and 2.5 years of age by September 30th and
- meet the following income guidelines, based on the Federal Government's Poverty Guidelines

Completing this application is the first step of the process. The application for your child cannot be processed until income verifications are received and a family interview is conducted with you over the phone or in-person.
