FCPS PreK and Early Head Start Offers:
- A high quality preschool program that provides an academic curriculum to students Monday through Friday
- PreK and EHS classrooms that follow the bell schedule of their elementary school
- Breakfast, Lunch and Snack every day
More about PreK and Early Head Start:
- School bus transportation is not guaranteed and there is no before school care and after school care
- Each family must provide significant paperwork during the application process and then again during
the enrollment process if accepted into the program
- For your family and your child to participate in our PreK program, your family must meet eligibility requirements,
which include: age, residency, and income
PreK Program Requirements:
Your family may qualify for PreK if you:
- reside in Fairfax County, Virginia and
- have a child who will be 3 or 4 years of age by September 30th
(there are limited spots for children of age 3)
- meet the following income guidelines, based on the Federal Government's Poverty Guidelines
- provide the TANF/SNAP award letter

Early Head Start (EHS) Program Requirements:
Your family may qualify for EHS if you:
- reside in Fairfax County, Virginia in the geographical areas of Herndon, Reston or Springfield and
- are a pregnant woman or have a child between the ages of 0 and 2.5 years of age by September 30th and
- meet the following income guidelines, based on the Federal Government's Poverty Guidelines

Completing this application is the first step of the process. The application for your child cannot be processed until income verifications are received and a family interview is conducted with you over the phone or in-person.
